Intel introduced the Core I5 for the budget minded users. The Core I5 2500K performs almost same to the more expensive Core I7 sibling, except the Notebook version. The notebook and laptop version of Core I5 is only a dual core processor. So when it comes to heavily multi-threaded applications the notebook version will be only half as much as faster.
